Medtel Australia

Axios IT has been working with Medtel on the WinChart project since Axios IT was
started in 2002. In fact, Daniel and Jason from Axios IT are former Medtel
developers. Medtel continues to outsource many projects to Axios IT.

WinChart Registration System
|
|
Medtel required a product registration system for their WinChart product range. With
each installation of WinChart incorporating many separately configurable options,
Axios IT proposed that a custom registration system was required.
Axios IT designed a product registration system that enabled different features to be
activated for different periods of time. Certain features could also be trialled and
unlocked at a later stage if the customer decided to purchase that add-on.

WinChart Console
|
|
The WinChart system is used in hospitals for electronic patient charting and reporting.
With patients moving between induction rooms, operating theatres and recovery rooms,
Medtel's customers required a single console view of the movements of patients
throughout the hospital.
Axios IT developed an application for mapping out hospital wards and saving this
information to a Microsoft SQL Server database. From there an ASP page maps this
information to patient information held in the WinChart database and provides a
real-time view of patient movements through the hospital. The console can even be used to
initiate video-conferencing between theatre locations.

Acute Pain System
|
|
Having seen Axios IT's PDA project for the DHS, Medtel commissioned Axios IT to create
a PDA application for collecting acute pain information on a PDA. Patient data had to be
stored directly onto a database on the PDA and the application had to support working
offline and synchronising data back to a central server at the end of the day.
Axios IT created a fully-graphical PDA application and data replication engine using
VB.Net and an administrative system using ASP. Later, a reports engine was added to the
admin system using VB.Net.
The APS application has been designed to be flexible with the data it collects and reports.
It is anticipated that other clinical data collection software will be added to this
application framework at a later stage.

Pre-Op Patient Management System
|
|
The WinChart Pre-Op Module is a follow-on project from the Acute Pain System. It is a web-based system that assists clinicians in quickly identifying risks to patients during surgery.
While only in the early stages so far, the Pre-Operative Module was demonstrated at the recent ANZCA conference in Adelaide and received very positive feedback.
